Europe’s largest archipelago: located 17km off the coast of Granville, Chausey is a natural site whose richness has earned it inclusion in the Natura 2000 network, which helps preserve its exceptional diversity. The archipelago is at the mercy of Europe’s highest tides: 365 islets appear at low tide, while at high tide some 50 remain above the surface. The result is an astonishing spectacle in perpetual motion, and an exceptional landscape for all kinds of activities and discoveries.
These activities are often carried out in close proximity to nature, in the heart of preserved environments renowned for their biodiversity, bringing a sense of eco-responsibility to your stay.
This is one of eight harbors dotting the west coast of the English Channel. These estuaries combine sandbanks and salt meadows, framed by large dune massifs. During high tides, from a coefficient of 93 upwards, the sea completely covers the grasslands. Le Havre can then be discovered on the water in a kayak or paddle, and the road that crosses it becomes submersible! There are very few of these in France, and the spectacle is astonishing.
