For Chausey: The vedettes Jolie France will take care of transporting you to this wild and precious archipelago in complete serenity for a day out of time.
For the Channel Islands: The compagnie Manche Iles Express provides crossings to Jersey and the other Channel Islands. Crossings resume in April 2024. Don’t forget your passport, it’s been compulsory since the Brexit. Good news, though: Jersey has decided to extend the scheme allowing French nationals to travel there for the day from France using their valid ID card. Implemented on April 22, 2023 and initially scheduled for a test period ending on September 30, 2023, this scheme is now operational until September 30, 2024.
The famous couturier Christian Dior was born in Granville in 1905 and grew up in the villa “Les Rhumbs”, which is now the Musée Christian Dior. He was greatly inspired by this period of his childhood. The villa is surrounded by the Jardin Christian Dior showcasing, in particular, the roses that this botanical enthusiast was particularly fond of.
The Cabane Vauban de Carolles – the famous stone cottage perched opposite the Mont Saint-Michel – is located on the pointe de Carolles. For GPS owners, here’s the address to reach the nearest parking lot, so you’ll only have to walk 500 meters to enjoy this majestic viewpoint: Chemin de la Cabane Vauban, 50530 Champeaux. There are also two other Vauban cabins nearby: the one on the falaises de Champeaux and the one at Saint-Jean-le-Thomas. A fourth Vauban hut, built on the heights of Jullouville, has just been renovated.
This unusual road, covered by water every high tide (from a coefficient of 93), is located at Les Salines in Bricqueville-sur-Mer. It lies at the heart of the Havre de la Vanlée, a superb walking area for nature lovers blending beaches, dunes and salt marshes where sheep and salt meadow lambs gambol.
