L’association “l’ALTERNATEUR 48°N/1°W” basé Donville-les-Bains is organising an innovative andécological with the aim of democratising contemporary art and introducing visitors to artists and gardens at the same time. Discover the work of national and international contemporary sculptors working in a variety of materials: wood, metal, stone, resin; This year, 17 internationally renowned artists are invited to 12 private and communal spaces in the local communes;The exhibition is free of charge and on a large scale, and takes place in the towns of Donville-les-Bains, Brueacute;ville-sur-Mer, Longueville, Yquelon and Granville. On this occasion, nature lovers and art enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a festive weekend, enlivened by musical performances and tastings of gastronomic products. A stone and wood symposium will take place in two gardens in Longueville and Yquelon from 12 noon on Thursday 5 June to 5pm on Monday 9 June. The public will be able to follow the genesis of three works live. Concerts will be held over the 3 days. The programme can be found on the back of the flyer below.
Concerned about the environment, the association invites visitors to give preference to soft modes of transport. Although access by car is possible, the route is designed to encourage walking, cycling, allowing visitors to take full advantage of the natural beauty of the area. On Saturday 7 June, the bus NEVA will be able to drop you off near some of the exhibition venues. Some gardens are accessible to people of limited mobility.
