Climate Week

from 1 to 7 December 2025

Climate Week is a citizens’ initiative launched by the association ” Rencontres granvillaises “, created in April 2023 and recognised as an association of general interest. The first edition aimed to raise awareness of the causes and consequences of climate change. The theme of this year’s event is ” Building our future, now! “.

Why a Climate Week?

Because we need to understand before we act, because we need to unite, to meet and to realise that we are not alone in our fight to limit climate change.

Because we need to adapt now, collectively and individually, to all the issues that affect our lives: housing, mobility, water, energy, housing, fishing, agriculture, biodiversity, the coastline, living differently, all the issues that affect us directly and locally.

These issues will be addressed by top-quality speakers, including researchers and economists, as well as local organisations such as the communes of Granville Terre et Mer, schools and colleges, UNICEF, the CCI Sud Manche, Agissons pour le climat and other associations.

With the support of scientists, local players will be offering events throughout the week in their localities: films/debates, nature walks, carbon footprint calculations, exhibitions on water, climate, diversity and digital murals, a free market, a solutions fair and a festive evening, etc.
