Carnaval de Granville practical information

To make sure you don’t miss out on the 150th Granville Carnival, here’s some practical information to help you make the most of the event.

The program

Friday, February 9, 2024 6:00 pm / 7:30 pm / 11:30 pm: Mapping projection – Podium Cours Jonville: special 150th edition entertainment 6:30 pm: Pre-opening with l’Archipel : Strolling of the Acousteel Gang brass band in the city center – Free 8:00 p.m.: Opening concert with Marcel and his orchestra / Opening act: The Jean’s Tonic – Maison du carnaval. Free admission. Tickets to be collected on Saturday January 27 and Saturday February 3 at the Granville Tourist Office (9am). Maximum 2 tickets per person. Shuttles (SUNDAY ONLY): 2 shuttle routes will be set up on Sunday (10am-8pm): the starting point is the Maison Brûlée traffic circle (at the “Monsieur Bricolage” store). 2 possible stops: at the Dior stadium or at the Amiraux traffic circle. Free shuttles. Street closures: Friday: Cours Jonville closed from 6:45 p.m. to 7 a.m.: detour set up. Saturday: closure from Calvaire to Cours Jonville, depending on the progress of the cavalcade, from 2.15pm to 5pm. On Sunday, from 10am to 9pm, total closure of the town center.

  • North (Donville): traffic circle linking Donville to Granville train station, no further.
  • In the “center”: maison brûlée traffic circle (shuttle departure point) – no further.
  • South (Saint Pair): Piscine and Lycée la Morandière impossible to go any further.

Tuesdays: city center closed from 10 a.m. (until 7 a.m. the next day): Cours Jonville in particular. Carnival: 2 carnivals are planned during Carnival: on the Fontaine Bedeau parking lot and on Place Sémard for children (at Granville station), from February 10 to 25. Parking lots occupied from February 5 to 25. PRM access: For the grand cavalcade on Sunday, a stand for people with reduced mobility will be set up near the La Poste parking lot (on the Cours Jonville). On the same day, as the town is closed to traffic between 10am and 8pm, people with reduced mobility are invited to park in the Granville Aquatic Center parking lot (rue des Lycées in Granville) and take the PMR shuttle bus between 10am and 8pm (departure Boulevard des Amériques towards Fontaine Bedeau).
