Sporting detours

A zany journey

5 multi-disciplinary artists, each representing one of the 5 rings of the Games, take over an emblematic sports venue in Granville to offer an offbeat tour. Locker room, playground, ticket office, refreshment area, stands… all pretexts for an unusual, poetic and sporting encounter with the public. On the program: poetic coaching, musical triathlon, physical culture, locker-room confidences, the art of losing and dignity in the fall! An artistic itinerary lasting around forty minutes in total, with “minute performances”, will be custom-designed, written and performed by the 5 artists Chloé Lacan, Nicolas Cloche, Victor Duclos, Damien Dutrait and Fabrice Hervé. The show will be performed 3 times in a row for an audience of 20 to 40 people.

Bals-minutes

and Grand Bal under the stars

It’s an invitation to dance through the town of Granville, from the Val-es-Fleur to the Quartier Saint Nicolas, via the Upper Town and the seafront. In the afternoon, a series of four bals-minutes take place in Granville. One time / One place / One ball in 30 minutes. Four invitations to dance acoustically in the public space. Each ball-minute like a new point of view on the city. In the evening, to round things off in style, there’ll be a picnic on the table and Le Grand Bal under the stars, where dancing will continue in the open air with all the musicians and dance leaders. Interludes will allow the public to watch contemporary dances, poetic writings and theater in the colors of dance and sport by professionals.

Workshops and a conference

Straddle the city

Alongside these highlights, workshops and a conference will be offered to the public and event volunteers (between June 26 and July 17): Ballroom dance – from traditional to contemporary” workshops to introduce participants to the dances to be performed at the Grand Bal sous les étoiles. It’s a great way to make the link between yesterday’s and today’s dance practices. Workshops open to all: “If you can walk, you can dance! “A “Bodies Together” conference led by Sophie Rousseau, musician, dancer and teacher. It’s like a storytelling and visual stroll through the dances of yesterday and today, to grasp the relationship between dance and music (rhythm of steps, instruments, voice…) and learn a little more about the vital link that is Rhythm.

As the artists who co-produce the ENJAMBÉES say, “Prepare your gams, dance, span the city! “
