Organised for the 14th edition by the Département de la Manche, the Région Normandie and the Fondation du Patrimoine, the Normandy heritage festival Pierres en Lumières » opens the doors to some very historic and cultural treasures à after dark. The nocturnal atmosphere allows you to see some well-known places from a different angle. Sometimes equipped with torches, wander through castles, manor houses, Vauban huts, churches and town centres and (re)discover the secrets of these little pieces of history! See programme below.

This year, the Tourist Office renews its collaboration with the logis d’Equilly to let you discover this former shipowner’s house and admiral’s residence. Two tours are planned for Friday 16 and Saturday 17: the first at 7pm, and the second at 9pm. At the end of the visit, the owners, Mr and Mrs Huline, will offer you a refreshment to round off the event. A visit will also be offered by Madame Couraye Duparc, a descendant of shipowners, on Sunday 18 May. Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes, free visit, limited to 25 people (including children).

European Museum NightThis year will mark the 21st edition of the European Night of Museums, organised by the French Ministry of Culture. This evening, many museums in France and Europe will be opening their doors free of charge from dusk until midnight. Christian Dior Museum

From the royal foundation in the 15th century to the development of today’s seaside resort and shellfish port, via Newfoundland fishing and sporting activities, the collections in Granville’s Museum of Art and History tell the story of the town and its founding myths. Exhibition: Les écrivains bohèmes de Montmartre From the turn of the 20th century à the First World War, Montmartre exerted a formidable power of attraction on écrivains, poètes and artists eager to settle à Paris. The exhibition-file Les écrivains bohèmes de Montmartre offers to (re)discover à through works and œuvres from the collections of the Musée d’art moderne Richard Anacréon this period of intense freedomé and création.
The museum’s collection of works of art and antiquarian books is the most important in the world.
The project house

The Maison du Projet, which opened its doors on 15 April 2022 in one of the dépendances of the Logis du Roi, is a place for changes and information around the work that the Musée d’art et d’histoire has been undergoing since 2015. Following the closure of the museum for safety reasons, the question of what will become of this historic building is being asked by Granvillais, supporters and the curious. The Maison du Projet presents the history of the building, the Logis du Roi, the research carried out and the work undertaken around the collections since 2015. Access is free for all. Passing through the doors of the Maison du Projet also means access to the Jardin de l’Œuvre, which offers a breathtaking view of Granville, the harbour and beyond.
