Welders’ Night Festival

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August 2025

The 20th edition of La Nuit des Soudeurs will be held this year to tie in with the theme “The Cycle” at the heart of the Val-ès-Fleurs park à Granville. The festival was born in 2004 when a collective of artists came up with the idea of using scrap metal abandoned on Granville’s port as part of an artistic night.

Artists, blacksmiths and sculptors

The Nuit des Soudeurs will bring together nearly forty artists, blacksmiths and sculptors who will draw their inspiration from the piles of scrap metal stored in the Val-ès-Fleurs park for the occasion, for out-of-the-ordinary artistic creéations. During the 1st weekend of August, artists take over the parc du Val-ès-Fleurs. <The programme for the two days includes live sculptures, welding workshops, exhibitions, food and drink, concerts and, at the end of the festival, an auction of the works created on Sunday.

The cycle

in all its forms

This year, welder-craftsmen artists are invited to create a sculpture live and in front of the public on the theme of the Cycle; The content will include cycle-based sculptures, cycling performances, creations of original rolling machines, readings on the theme of cycling, games, artistic walks and original or transformed bicycles. Equipped with bowstations, grinders, sticks, discs, masks and glasses, the sculptors will come to create their artistic projects individually or in groups of up to 3. Two skips of scrap metal for recycling will be made available to them to showcase their creativity and the quality of their work.

Sculptors will also be able to take part in the exhibition.
