Sandrine Besnard 03Sandrine
Originally from the Pays d’Auge, Sandrine moved to Rennes for her studies, only to return to Normandy in July 2016, to Jullouville.
I spent my childhood tinkering with wood and aerated concrete, creating all sorts of things in my father’s carpentry workshop. Around the age of 11, I started drawing illustrations for old school books. When I was 13, I was given an old tin of oil paints. My father set up a little studio for me at the bottom of the garden… And that’s where it all began! 5 years of painting and applied arts classes, alongside my secondary school (yes, 5 years of experimental secondary school, to train good level scientists… So they say!)
Then it was off to the art faculty at Rennes 2. It’s hard to find a job when you’re just out of university and have an extra mouth to feed, so I went to nursing school at the CHR, and quickly branched out into art therapy, psychiatry and addictology, until 2010.
