At the Cheese Carnival
They met in Quebec City at the cheese dairy where Romain worked, and when they heard that “La Maison Durand” was retiring and selling the dairy, they didn’t hesitate. “It’s an honor to take up the family torch”.

Romain spent his youth working on the family farm in Camembert. He went on to study wine and gastronomy in Angers. After graduating and gaining work experience promoting PDO products, he moved to Quebec City to continue his studies. At the same time, fueled by his family’s passion, Romain worked as a creamer-cheesemonger in Quebec City and then Montreal.
Floriane is originally from Haute-Savoie, and has always worked in economic development, in France for entrepreneurial support organizations and in Montreal with entrepreneurs looking to go international. Their lineage: promoting farm products.
We’re lucky in that our backgrounds complement each other.
When their uncle and aunt from “La Maison Durand” sold the cheese shop they had opened in Granville in 2016, Romain and Floriane didn’t hesitate to take over the business in early 2023. Their aim is to use the store to promote local and regional products. Working in a short circuit and passing on their passion to customers are important to them.
Above all, it’s a job of passion that we try to pass on to our customers.
