Mae and Gautier

Ferme de l'Accueillette in Saint-Planchers

These two friends, in love with the region, decided to settle in Granville Terre et Mer 4 years ago to live their lives as artists and craftsmen on a 5? hectare plot of land. Their aim: to welcome residents and visitors to a place that reflects their own personal style, combining second-hand objects, artistic sculptures and educational gardens. L’Accueillette is a place for growing fruit, art and animals.

To meet

Mae and Gautier
Mae

Mae is an intermittent performer, part of the “Faire Ailleurs” collective in Granville, and also works with the welding collective in Coudeville-sur-Mer. She’s trained as a machinist and loves working with materials. She loves passing on and sharing.

Gautier

Gautier’s previous experience has been in show business, but he always wanted to work on a farm. Today he’s proud to be a ‘ farmer ‘. He grows trees in his orchard and vegetables and herbs in his greenhouse.

When we were children, we went to the beaches of Jullouville and Donville-les-Bains respectively. We are very attached to this area.

The farm of

l'Accueillette

The site is characterised as a farm. We have a nursery, an orchard, around ten hens, sheep, geese and a cat. We offer events on predefined dates, subject to prior booking. And a special opening on Fridays from 4pm to 7pm only.

Special events

at the Accueillette farm

The site is not yet open to the public all week at all hours, but it is open from time to time, particularly during the Ferme en Folie festival, where Mae and Gautier offer raw clay and woodworkshops for children aged 4 to 14. They also offer “learn to recognise hedges” events as part of the Fête de la Nature and the Fête des Plantes.

Woofing, picking

and collective projects

Mae and Gautier have already welcomed around ten woofers from different backgrounds. In general, woofing takes place over 10 days in spring and summer. They also organise collective hedge-planting projects to encourage biodiversity. In the nursery, Gautier looks after his fruit trees. He offers apples, pears, cherries, plums, blackcurrants and redcurrants for picking, as well as perennial herbs such as tarragon, savory and thyme.

Their

location

preferred

Le Roc in Granville. We used to hang out there when we were kids. The view is incredible.

Their

commitment

in favour of the ecological transition

We love recycling and have designed the accommodation on the farm using ecological materials. There are solar panels, dry toilets, eco-grazing and rainwater harvesting, among other things…
