Mélanie Dumesnil

At the Mini Ferme du Taillais, Haribo the goat is like a rooster in dough: she wanders among the free-ranging hens and moves from one enclosure to another, home to giant rabbits, llamas, donkeys, Swiss sheep and mini cows. The atmosphere here is one of gentleness and discovery. Meet Mélanie, the manager of this little world.

Mélanie

Creator of the Mini Ferme du Taillais

Passionate about animals since childhood, Mélanie studied agriculture before starting her career with horses. With her husband, she began trading in retired racehorses and horse boarding. Wishing to diversify her activities, she set up the Mini Ferme du Taillais in 2024.

With her husband and children, Mélanie loves visiting animal parks, zoos and educational farms, to meet the animals and discover new species. She has realised her dream by creating her own Noah’s Ark at the Mini Ferme du Tallais.

“When I was little, my parents used to say to me: if we listened to you, this would be Noah’s Ark! “

During visits and workshops, the children discover goats, giant rabbits, miniature cows, miniature donkeys, llamas, sheep… They feed them, brush them, walk them, and marvel at these atypical residents. Births are frequent, and Mélanie takes particular pleasure in looking after the little ones that join the Mini Ferme family.

It's impossible for Mélanie to choose a favourite animal: she loves them all!

“That’s a really difficult question… They’re all so cute! I do have a soft spot for miniature donkeys when they’re born, or for goats with their big ears”.
