For Céline, Granville is a return to her roots. Originally from the Orne region, she used to come to Destination Granville Terre et Mer at weekends and during the holidays until she was 20. Then she set off to explore the world, from Florida to Costa Rica and Mexico, before returning to Normandy in autumn 2022. She studied Tourism, and in particular Business Tourism Management, which enabled her to travel and work abroad.

“Granville is a good compromise for the diverse personality that I am,” she confides.

Her various professional experiences abroad, such as in France, the French Pavilion at Walt Disney World in Orlando, the incoming agency in Costa Rica, Les Maisons du Voyage in Paris and from Mexico, and even the French Pavilion at Walt Disney World in Orlando, have given her a great deal of experience. Paris and Mexico, and setting up a group seminar service at the Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris, have all helped her to develop her adaptability, interpersonal skills and trilingualism.

I’ve been to 29 countries and yet there’s not one I’d rather stay in than here.

For her, Granville is an inspiration and a source of well-being. Her favourite spot in the area is the Promenade Charles VII in the Haute Ville, with its views over Donville-les-Bains, the Plat Gousset and the greenery on the cliffs. She enjoys writing poetry and contemplation.

“I even have my own little bench sheltered from the wind with a view of Chausey”, she adds.

The high tides are her favourite time of year, which she experiences several times a year.

“On a high tide weekend, the spectacle is guaranteed. There are a number of free pleasures: watching the raging sea at Plat-Gousset, walking along the foreshore when the wind has died down. There’s something mystical about seeing the sea recede so far and especially the speed with which it rises again. It’s unique and part of our DNA that we should be proud of.

Confidence

“When I work in Granville, I usually go for a walk at the end of the day and when I get home, I feel like I haven’t worked all day – that’s the magic of Granville and the seaside. “

Become an ambassador

Being an ambassador is an obvious choice for her; it’s part of her personality to share and promote her region, and to bring the extraordinary into the ordinary.

“And if someone tells me that they want to come here because of my photos, that’s a real gift for me.
