Jeanne

Rider at the Granville horse club

Jeanne started riding on shetlands, a small pony, then quickly moved up to a double-sponge, Velvet, and did so for four years before training this last season with Armistice. Thanks to their hard work, they have qualified for the French Championships, which will be held from 4 to 14 July in Lamotte-Beuvron, near Orléans, both as part of a team with three other riders and as individuals.

The French championships

For the past few years, Jeanne has been training with the aim of competing in the French Championships. This year, for the first time, she has qualified in the Show Jumping, Minimes 2, Excellence and Pony 2 Individual categories. She will have to complete a show jumping course with as few faults as possible. With her horse, she will have to clear a dozen obstacles measuring between 80 and 85 centimètres in height and width, over two qualifying rounds for the grand final. During the team test, the four riders will each complete a course, over two heats, and if, all goes to plan a final.

Training

Jeanne train four à five times a week, including one session supervised by her coach, devoted to show jumping. The other sessions focus on horse dressage, bodybuilding and gymnastics, as well as beach rides at Donville-les-Bains and Bréville-sur-Mer. A few weeks before the competition, Jeanne is adapting her training:she works her horse in a regular manner, continues the jumping competitions to keep up with the pace but just as often takes her to clear her head at the beach and enjoy the benefits of the sea.

Future objectives

Jeanne wants to continue to evolve in the equestrian field. In a few years’ time, she plans to ride a horse, which will require her to develop a different technique: the horse is bigger, with a different stride to that of a pony.

His future profession

Jeanne would like to work as a photographer and why not in the equestrian world, while continuing to take pleasure in amateur riding.
