Seaside jogging, a breath of fresh air

September is a not-to-be-missed month for runners in Destination Granville Terre et Mer. Sunken paths, stairways, hedged farmland, beaches, dykes… Whether you’re a trail runner or a road runner, there’s something for everyone. To share the effort or beat records, the Saint-Pair-sur-Mer trail offers two courses of 8 and 11 km with marked differences in altitude, taking runners to the edge of the Bouillon pond, a Natura 2000 site: a sporting getaway between sea and hedged farmland. In Granville, the triathlon blazes a trail between sea and heritage

Departing from the Pointe du Roc, with a panoramic view of Granville Bay and the Chausey Islands, the Granville triathlon promises an intense sporting experience. A real sporting challenge, it combines swimming, cycling and running in an exceptional setting. After taking to the water, participants get on their bikes for a technical course along the bay, before setting off on a run through the heart of the Haute Ville, along cobbled streets and steps. The effort is rewarded at the harbour, where the finish is accompanied by a fanfare of cheers from the public. Granville Triathlon, 28 September 2025, S and M format

GR223, iodised efforts for a boosted return to school

The 42km GR223 trail along Granville Terre et Mer ‘s protected coastline gives visitors the chance to enjoy one last shot of vitamin D and fill up on sea air. From Bricqueville-sur-Mer to Champeaux, the trail takes in the harbour of La Vanlée and its submersible road, the mussel beds, the Haute Ville de Granville, the garden of Villa Les Rhumbs and the Vauban huts. The backdrop to this walk isthe Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, which changes with the tides and follows in the footsteps of the hikers.

Back to school on the move at Granville Terre et Mer

At Granville Terre et Mer, you can get on your mountain bike to recharge your batteries and extend your days. Six signposted circuits invite you to (re)discover the rolling countryside of the Normandy bocage, taking in sunken paths, undergrowth and coastal panoramas. The La Lucerne & Py Park route is a particular favourite, punctuated by emblematic heritage sites such as the Abbaye de la Lucerne, an edifice of Norman Premonstratensian architecture, the Moulin de Vaucelles and Py Park, a memorial site to the Second World War… Each pedal stroke reveals a piece of the Destination’s history. For the more experienced, the “Trouée verte” offers a more sporting route through the Boscq valley and the village of La Meurdraquière, a designated Heritage Village – a promise of effort… and pleasure, for a rhythmic return to school.
