Residents of Granville Terre et Mer in the eyes of Horizons

They come from Normandy and have returned after discovering other regions, or have chosen to settle here. What they have in common is that they love Granville Terre et Mer, they live and work here, they create here, they are inspired here… they are ambassadors. Through videos and photographs in the form of diptychs, Horizons draws the portrait of these men and women between land and sea who make the area shine with their know-how, their art and their heritage. In a free preview for the residents of Granville Terre et mer, before being broadcast on digital communication and promotional tools, more than 200 people attended the screening of these 4 portraits at the Cinéma Le Sélect on 22 March 2024.

2 women and 2 men between land and sea

Aurélie, Tanguy, Alice and Matthieu are scattered across Granville Terre et Mer. Some create and manufacture, while others care for and promote the region’s heritage.
– Aurélie Binet, Equine physiotherapist and massage therapist
Aurélie enjoys the beauty of Le Havre de la Vanlée on a daily basis. Her equine thalassotherapy stable is located on the edge of this dune peninsula, a particularly interesting setting for competition horses.
– Tanguy Le Rolland, Farmer-baker
Located in Hudimesnil in a beautiful wooded setting, the Bois Landelle farm is home to a number of farmers, including Tanguy, a farmer-baker who produces sourdough bread with his partner David.
– Alice Toumit, Ceramist
Alice set up her ceramics studio in Mesnil-Aubert. Nature is omnipresent in her daily environment and is an integral part of her work. When she’s not creating for herself, Alice passes on her skills to her students in evening classes.
– Matthieu Alluin, Captain of the Marité
Matthieu and his crew sail aboard the Marité; the passengers they take aboard this former terre neuvier have the privilege of raising the sails before enjoying a heavenly stopover in the middle of the Chausey archipelago.

“One of our missions is to play an active part in attracting visitors to the area by developing the reputation and image of Granville Terre et Mer, while at the same time defending our distinctive features,” says Deborah Le Goff, Director of the Intercommunal Tourist Office. “People must be at the heart of the promotion of the destination, whether they are tourism service providers or local residents. “

For the Community of Communes, it is vital that these same residents take ownership of the area and come together to share and define who we are, and to promote our know-how and our industries, both on land and at sea. And who better to embody Granville Terre et Mer than the residents and workers who have decided to come back and settle in the area?
It was also essential to present these portraits to the residents of Granville Terre et Mer first, and free of charge. They are the best ambassadors for the area, just as much as the subjects filmed!
