The game of differences and similarities between “Pinceaux et Fourchette” and “Saveurs et Créateurs
While “Pinceaux et Fourchette” takes visitors behind the scenes of artists’ studios, “Saveurs et Créateurs” allows them to talk to craftspeople. And yes, there are differences!
An artist is someone who performs any of the creative arts. This can range from painting to music. He or she is generally someone who creates art for art’s sake, without necessarily being tied to a tradition or craft. Artists often explore new ideas and concepts, and are more interested in aesthetics than function.
An artisan is a skilled worker who makes things by hand. It is someone who creates utilitarian objects or works of art by following a tradition or craft. Craftspeople are interested in the quality and function of their creations, and they make a point of respecting the standards of their trade.
While ‘Pinceaux et Fourchette’ focuses on the Quartier de la Haute Ville and Rue des Juifs in Granville, ‘Saveurs et Créateurs’ has a wider reach, covering other streets in Granville and even other towns in the area.
On the other hand, it goes without saying that both tours are designed to have a smaller carbon footprint. Most of the programme can be managed on foot or by public transport, thanks to the Neva network of buses operated by the Granville Terre et Mer Community of Communes.
