Let yourself be guided by the rhythm of nature…

The sea, the salt meadows, the Norman bocage… At Granville Terre & Mer, you can get a good dose of nature and iodine… and even more, if you’re well accompanied! At Domaine d’Esthine, in Carolles, you can make friends with the Cotentin donkeys, an endangered local breed that make great walking companions. With Sébastien, an ornithologist guide from Birding Mont-Saint-Michel, you can recharge your batteries to the sound of birdsong on an ultra-sensory hike in the Vallée du Lude or on a magical encounter with the marine mammals that live in the bay. We’ll also be following Dominic on a guided educational tour of the havre de la Vanlée, to find out all about the fauna, flora and fauna of the area.
to learn all about the fauna, flora, tidal phenomena and the formation of the dunes, as well as the importance of keeping to the paths. Summer is the time when baby seals are born… so watch from a distance so as not to frighten the mothers!

Sleep with a clear conscience

Granville Terre & Mer offers eco-friendly accommodation. At La Mouche, an old wine press has been transformed into a cosy Deury eco-gîte using recycled materials.
With its country house decor, pellet-burning stove, wireless internet access and a garden that’s just as ‘responsible’ as it is exotic. In Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, the Castel camping Château de Lez-Eaux**** and its 12 hectares welcome visitors wishing to discover the heritage of Normandy. You can enjoy a stay in the countryside, literally and figuratively, in a glamping tent, a mobile home with a cottage feel or perched in a tree house.

Savour locavore cuisine

Here, the land and sea are nurturing… and the chefs are committed. Vegetables and fish are favoured by Franck Leboucher, chef at Pont Bleu, a Clé Verte accredited restaurant in Saint-Pair-Sur-Mer, whose “instinctive” cuisine adapts to the produce (and not the other way round). In Bréhal, behind the glass kitchen of their restaurant L’Espiègle, Ludivine Delahaye and Cyril Guillaumin enjoy using simple, local ingredients… that everyone can buy from local producers.
You can meet them at local farmers’ and organic markets, and in summer directly at the farms of Crecey (Saint-Pair-sur-Mer) or La Chèvre rit (Granville). The stalls sell eggs, meat, vegetables, crêpes, cheeses… everything you need for a zero-waste picnic.

Travelling light and thinking zero waste

Bucket, spade, rake… In Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, toys are available in bins, to be borrowed for a beach session and returned when you leave. You can even leave your own toys there if they’re no longer needed. Forgotten book? Whether you’re a local or a tourist, you can subscribe to the Granville Terre & Mer media library network free of charge. To stay well hydrated and in zero waste mode, adopt the “gourd-friendly” attitude: a QR code can be used to locate all the possible free refill points (shops, bars, restaurants, art galleries, etc.) in the destination.

Soft mobility means soft prices!

What’s a car for? What’s the point? You can travel the length and breadth of Destination Granville Terre & Mer on the Néva intercommunal buses, which run on biofuel or hybrids. The whole network is free. And if you travel by bus or by bike, you can take advantage of “low carbon rates” on guided tours offered by the Tourist Office. Just show your helmet or bus ticket.
