The Festival des Grandes Marées, between waves and decibels

Granville Terre et Mer, home to Europe’s highest tides, is punctuated by the comings and goings of the sea, which sweeps across the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel twice a day. It is to this rhythm, which punctuates the Destination, that the Grandes Marées festival invites visitors and residents to dance and sing between the Vallée des Peintres and the beach at Jullouville. For seven evenings, the seaside resort of Jullouville becomes the beating heart of the festival. The Kraken and Sonar stages play host to renowned artists such as Pascal Obispo, Kavisky and Bob Sinclar, as well as up-and-coming talents ready to thrill the 3,000 festival-goers gathered just a stone’s throw from the waves. From 19 to 27 July 2025 in Jullouville

Fond la Cale: the carnival spirit blows through the summer

In Granville Terre et Mer, the art of partying knows no season. With the À Fond la Cale festival, the joyously wacky spirit of the famous Carnival is reinvented in a summer version. Here, people dress up, imagine, make things – often out of odds and ends – and above all, laugh and celebrate together. For a weekend in Saint-Martin de Bréhal, floating rafts, crazy bands and zany creations take over the slipway and the beach in an unbridled, participatory atmosphere. The O.F.N.I. (Unidentified Floating Objects) race and the race of the happy whalers are the highlights of this concentration of creativity, good humour and sharing, true to the DNA of a Destination that loves more than anything to create links through festivities. From 31 July to 3 August 2025 in Saint-Martin-de-Bréhal

Festival des Voiles de Travail, heritage afloat

Granville Terre et Mer also has a strong maritime history. Formerly a cod port and a place of great departures to Newfoundland, and now France’s leading shellfish port, this emblematic site of the Destination pays tribute to the men of the Great Fishery who shaped the quays. The Voiles de Travail festival brings together old riggings, sea chanteys, exhibitions, escape games and tastings for a few days where heritage comes alive to the rhythm of the tides and tales of yesteryear. From 21 August to 25 August 2025 in the fishing port of Granville
