Classification of Furnished Accommodation

Vacation rental owners, get your accommodation classified!

Since June 2019, your Granville Terre et Mer Tourist Office has been authorized to carry out the classification of furnished accommodation on the territory!

The classification of your furnished tourist accommodation guarantees the Quality of your accommodation, gives you visibility and allows you to enjoy multiple advantages!

 

GRADING AN OFFICIAL GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

As with hotels or campsites, the star rating of meublés de tourisme is an official guarantee of quality in terms of service and comfort :

  • A national qualification supported by the Ministry in charge of Tourism,
  • A benchmark adapted to customer requirements incorporating comfort, equipment and service criteria,
  • A range of classification from 1* to 5* giving a reliable indication of the level of comfort and services,
  • Stars, an internationally recognized commercial benchmark.

      5 STEPS TO GET THE STARS
      1. I order a visit from the Office de Tourisme Granville Terre et Mer by e-mail at : classementmeuble@otgtm.fr I return the order form with payment and the pre-diagnostic.
      2. I receive a professional who will visit my rental, in my presence or that of my representative.
      3. I receive the visit report with the proposed classification decision within 30 days.
      4. I have 15 days to refuse the decision if necessary. Beyond this period, classification is required.
      5. My official classification is pronounced for a period of 5 years.
      TAX ADVANTAGE

      Owners of vacation rentals classified as “meublés de tourisme“, taxed in the BIC (Bénéfices Industriels et Commerciaux) category benefit from a tax abatement of 71% compared with 50% for a non-classified rental.

      The income ceiling allowed in this category is €81,500 for a classified furnished property versus €32,600 for a non-classified furnished property.

        Good to know:

        The cost of the visit is quickly recouped thanks to the increased tax allowance.

        TAXE DE SEJOUR

        For star-rated meublés de tourisme, the tourist tax is collected on the basis of a fixed rate.

         

        4 GOOD REASONS TO HAVE MY RENTAL CLASSIFIED
        • I reassure my customers and gain visibility. I stand out from other rentals by providing my customerswith an official guarantee of quality.
        • I gain access to services offered by the destination’s tourism development structures (depending on the territory: marketing assistance, newsletter, training, workshops…).
        • I can accept vacation vouchers. Classification as a meublé de tourisme enables you to join ANCV (Agence Nationale des Chèques Vacances) free of charge, although a 2.5% commission will be charged and a SIRET number is mandatory.
        • I pay less tax, I benefit from an increased tax allowance.
        How much does it cost?

        150€ for 1 furnished apartment

        280€ for 2 furnished apartments on the same site

        120€ for more than 2 furnished apartments and for each additional furnished apartment on the same site

        The fee includes:

        • The grading visit, including travel.
        • The appraisal of the file.
        • The editing and transmission of documents required for grading.
