Every year, the Pink October campaign raises awareness of breast cancer and breast screening. The shopkeepers of the town of Granville, through the members of the "Les Vitrines de Granville" association, are getting involved in the fight!
A poster campaign has been organized in the shop windows of the association?s member stores, and shopkeepers are invited, along with the press, to a cheque presentation*, scheduled for the end of October, on rue Couraye, at the Domiane boutique.
Alexandra, member and manager of the "Mademoiselle à la mer" boutique, explains: "The association?s member retailers are all affected, either directly or less directly, by this scourge. Several of our shopkeepers and customers are currently battling very violent cancers and recurrences Eléonore, member and manager of the "Eléonore lingerie" boutique, explains: "Once again this year, the association?s treasury has enabled us to make a donation of ?500 to the League Against Cancer. This amount enables us, for example, to finance home help for sick people for 6 months."
A shopkeeper adds, "This operation is in addition to the various actions carried out in the area, such as the 'Jullouvillaises' and the 'Marche des Roses en Baie', which I support financially every year." A neighbor adds, "Membership of the Vitrines de Granville is 120? a year, which is very reasonable.
