Mairie de Bréhal

Basandere is a character from Basque mythology. A wild, hairy woman, she lives in caves, linking the outside world with the underground. Lolita Delmonteil takes up this figure for an "intimo-political" show, from the inside out, from the "I" to the "we". Lolita Delmonteil instills her love of storytelling, her humor and her sensitivity into her songs, with lyrics that are laugh-out-loud funny, dramatic, enraged and committed, and music that is rich in harmony, rhythms and influences. She sings, dances, grooves, stings, cries and laughs. Between gentleness and outbursts, joyful mockery and freaky storytelling, words and notes combine to surprise and delight.
