Gilles MAS, painter.
Born in Granville, I'm an abstract painter, a self-taught non-conformist who works off the beaten track. I started painting with oil pastels, then plunged into acrylics.
For me, these materials are living, carnal substances. I work them with brushes, knives, even directly from the tube or with my hands, when they express an urgency. They are generous, explosive and free. They dance, evaporate or gush forth to scream out the joys and torments of life.
