Sylvie and Geneviève?s project was born of a seduction, not to say an enchantment: that of the silence of the white marsh, just emerging from its somnolence, when the diffused light pierces the first mists. As soon as the marsh "whitens" at the end of autumn, they scan the weather forecast for the first windless day to admire its dazzling whiteness, at the hour when the water meets the sky, which contemplates itself in its immaculate mirror. For the duration of a winter, the ephemeral union of water and air resounds in the echo of its reflection. On this "lake" as far as the eye can see, trees, bushes and isolated grasses are reflected, like a double of themselves, standing proud. As messengers from the earth, they "speak" to us, and the air fills with their sounds, smells and dances. With their senses on alert, Sylvie and Geneviève seek to convey these enigmatic messages. They invite you to read, listen and smell them. While one captures the image of a moment, the other weaves the fabric of an atmosphere, each trying to make them eternal.
