The Santana Garden Septet will be in concert at the Sept de Jazz club at the JOA casino in Saint-Pair-sur-mer.
A nod to the fabulous guitarist Carlos SANTANA in his Jazz Rock years and legendary albums such as WELCOME and CARAVANSERAÏ.
SANTANA GARDEN: 10 years of passion for the mystical world of Carlos Santana.
In 2025, the instrumental group SANTANA GARDEN proudly celebrates 10 years of existence, marked by unwavering fidelity to the unique musical universe of Carlos Santana, and more specifically to his jazz fusion period, a pivotal period considered by many to be the guitarist?s artistic apogee.
Comprising seven experienced musicians - guitar, saxophone, keyboards, bass/double bass, drums, congas and timbales - the band pays tribute to a lesser-known but profoundly rich facet of Santana?s work. This period, from the early 1970s to the late 1980s, explores sonic territories where jazz, Brazilian music, Latin rock and African rhythms meet in a musical alchemy that is both spiritual and festive.
Today, SANTANA GARDEN is the only band in France to offer a tribute entirely devoted to this very special period, with a repertoire drawn exclusively from the cult albums Caravanserai , Welcome, Borboletta, The Swing of Delight, as well as live performances by the Carlos Santana & Wayne Shorter Band project.
The band's sound is based on a constant, expressive interplay between guitar and saxophone, the project's true solo voices, in dialogue with a percussive trio (drums, congas, timbales) as energetic as it is refined. The whole is firmly anchored by the bass/double bass and the rich harmonic layers of the keyboards, creating a dense, colorful and spellbinding soundtrack.
This bold artistic choice, centered on a period less "mainstream" but judged by many to be the most inspired, mystical and demanding of Carlos Santana's career, testifies to the band's passion and commitment to music that transcends genres and eras.
SANTANA GARDEN doesn't just reproduce: it reinterprets, revives and transmits the free and spiritual spirit of a major artist, in an immersive and vibrant musical experience that is both faithful and profoundly contemporary.
