To mark the 50th anniversary of the Conservatoire du Littoral, Chausey?s coast guards are offering a series of events throughout the summer of 2025 (lectures, workshops and a live show) linked to the management, animation and preservation of the archipelago.
This lecture will be presented by the Chausey Coastal Guards.
The Chausey archipelago is one of the few sites in France where the public maritime domain has been allocated to the Conservatoire du littoral. This singularity means that the Gardes du littoral, the field agents who manage the Conservatoire?s sites, are trained to intervene at sea. Scientific diving, monitoring the seal population, surveillance, checks on fishermen on foot, raising awareness among yachtsmen, management of the anchorage zone and underwater work are just some of the missions entrusted to them throughout the year. This presentation will give you an insight into the day-to-day life of Chausey?s coastguards, on and under the water. We will also zoom in on the ZIPACh program, which aims to study, preserve and raise awareness of the eelgrass beds, a jewel of the archipelago with multiple ecological functions.
The conference is free and open to all, subject to availability.
The Granville-Chausey crossing is not included: please contact Jolie France to book your crossing.
