Saddle up for the May bank holidays!

The whole of Destination Granville Terre et Mer is taking part in the Mai à Vélo event, offering events, cycling routes and cycling-related activities for parents and children. Whether you’re a fan of gourmet rides or sporting challenges, everyone can cycle at their own pace in the Destination. More than twenty activities are on offer, including gourmet itineraries between the Destination’s organic farms, meeting market gardeners and producers, a biathlon for children in Bréhal, and exploring the Lucerne d’Outremer… Programme available at www.granville-terre-mer.fr

Granville Terre et Mer in the light of its heritage

Rising sun, clear, bright skies; setting sun, warm, orange skies: the colours change with the tides and the day in Granville Terre et Mer. The Pierres en Lumières heritage festival in Normandy opens the doors to historic and cultural treasures as night falls. The nocturnal atmosphere allows you to discover some well-known sites from a different angle. Sometimes equipped with torches, visitors can wander through castles, manor houses, the Cabane Vauban, the Abbaye de la Lucerne, churches and the heart of villages, to (re)discover hidden aspects of the Destination. From 16 to 18 May 2025.

From daily bath to wingfoil, all in the water at Granville Terre et Mer

The mild spring temperatures are here and the sun is warming up the seawater pools: it’ s bathing season! If you’re feeling the chill, you can take a gentle dip in the English Channel with Anne and the bathers from Le Bain Quotidien, but in a swimming costume! If you’re into laps, head for the seawater pools at Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, Plat Gousset or Donville-les-Bains. And for water sports fans, it’s time to don your neoprene wetsuit for a wingfoil session on the Suroît manchois, opposite the Chausey islands.

Iodised flavours and terrace pleasures

With the days getting longer, we’re extending the holiday feeling of the May bank holidays with an ice cream at Yver in Granville or on the terrace with a local beer at Le Rayon Vert in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, facing the sunset, where you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of that mythical “green sunbeam”. You can learn how to brew an artisanal beer in Jullouville, at l’Ecume des Falaises, with Martial. And to make your taste buds sparkle, head to Les Pins restaurant, on the Jullouville sea wall, for a tasting of local produce. This restaurant is committed to environmental responsibility and offers a low-carbon menu.
