Nestling in the heart of Destination Granville Terre et Mer, the small, leafy village of La Meurdraquière, located halfway between Granville and Villedieu-les-Poêles, is a fine example of the rural character of the Sud-Manche region. It is also a village whose founding family is one of the oldest in Normandy. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll learn all about the Meurdrac family and their history, from their arrival with the Scandinavian invaders to their apogee as a major seigneurial family in Norman medieval society. This visit has been awarded the Millenium 2027 label, and is being organised to mark the 1000th anniversary of William the Conqueror.
